STID? [Sexually transmissible infectious disease]: The case for a new term

In my essay, “STD (sexually transmitted disease) or STI (sexually transmitted infection): Should we choose?” I argue that we need a new term and propose “sexually transmissible infectious disease (STID)” as a more accurate way to refer to these infections or diseases.
